When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, and password. Your password is stored as a secure one-way hash — we never store or have access to your actual password.
If you choose to add them, we store a profile photo, display name, short bio, and any social media handles you link (WhatsApp, Instagram, Bluesky, Twitter, Facebook). All of this is optional and only added if you enter it yourself.
We store your saved/favorite stations, what station you're currently listening to (so friends can see it, if you use that feature), a running count of countries you've listened to stations from, and any in-app awards you've unlocked. We also record the date and version of the Terms of Service you agreed to at signup.
All radio station names, stream URLs, and related metadata shown in the App are sourced exclusively from Radio Browser (radio-browser.info), an open, community-maintained directory of publicly broadcasting internet radio stations. Radio Browser's data is made available for exactly this kind of use, and we do not create, host, or control the underlying audio streams themselves — we index and play what stations already make publicly available. We do not scrape, reverse-engineer, or pull from any private or undocumented third-party API to source stations. If you are a station operator or rights holder and believe a stream should not be listed, or if you'd like to request a station be added, use the “Add/Delete Station” link in the app's main menu or email dude.worldmusic@gmail.com — we will investigate and remove any station promptly upon a valid request. Weather and local-time information shown for a station reflects that station's location, not your device's location — the App does not currently collect your device's GPS location.
We use your information to operate the App: to authenticate you, save your favorites, show what you're listening to (if applicable), and support account features. We do not use your information for advertising or targeted marketing.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to run the App (such as our hosting and database providers), or if required to do so by law.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Menu → Profile → Delete Account.
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your country). See our Terms of Service for the full eligibility requirement.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including password hashing. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located in the United States, regardless of where you access the App from.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above.
